Mike Stone is a licensed Professional Engineer with more than 25 years of engineering and consulting experience on a variety of projects for the built environment, including facilities for higher education, K-12 education, healthcare, sciences, federal, military, commercial, manufacturing, aviation, transportation, mixed-use, multi-family, mission critical, data processing, and telecommunications.
Mike’s expertise is planning and engineering cost effective and energy efficient building electrical systems, including power distribution, standby/emergency power supply, uninterruptible power supply, grounding, lightning protection, ﬁre alarm, lighting, and control systems for new buildings and renovations, including high-rises.
As our electrical department head, Mike provides leadership, expertise and quality assurance throughout all phases of design and construction on each of our projects. Mike performs electrical surveys, studies, facility condition assessments, code reviews, equipment selection, peer review, bid review, shop drawing review, and construction site observations. He develops electrical design solutions, calculations, construction documents, speciﬁcations, and reports. He also initiates design coordination activities with owners, architects, contractors, local authorities, utility companies, equipment suppliers, and other design engineers.
