SBEC is the Mechanical and Electrical Engineer of Record for the new standalone 35,000 square foot, one-story emergency department. The new 14-bed high-tech outpatient facility includes laboratory services, radiology and CAT scan, a triage admission system and respiratory therapy. The facility is equipped with a helicopter landing pad. The new facility was built on a 35 acre parcel with capacity to accommodate future growth.
SBEC’s scope of work consisted of:
- Medical gas systems
- HVAC system design
- Plumbing design
- Chilled water air-handler units & hot water heating systems
- Fire protection design
- Electrical Distribution System: 1600A, 480Y/277v main distribution center with normal system panelboards, step-down transformers at each building level
- Essential Electrical System consisting of a 300kw/375kVA engine generator, subdivided into three branches; life-safety, critical and equipment distribution
- Site and interior lighting design
- Branch circuit power
- Electrical provisions for X-ray and CT Scan systems
- Rough-in for IT, data and nurse call systems
- Communication pathways
- Coordination with Owner and medical equipment
- Fire alarm system design
